The organizer of the UTECH trade shows, Crain Communications Inc., has announced the launch of a new polyurethane industry event for the fast-growing market in Southeast Asia. The UTECH Southeast Asia exhibition and conference will take place April 26-28, 2022, at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Over the last five years Southeast Asia has rapidly grown as a manufacturer of polyurethane products. The region offers easy access to the large US market and smaller but rapidly growing local markets for polyurethane products.
There has been explosive growth in a number of polyurethane processing sectors in the region in recent years. Exports of mattresses, most commonly made from polyurethane, from Vietnam to the US have risen from 14,000 in 2014 to 3.1 million in the first nine months of 2020. Geographically, Vietnam is strategically placed between Indonesia to the south, Thailand and Malaysia to the west. The petrochemical hubs of Map Ta Phut, Thailand and Singapore are nearby for raw materials.
Visitors to UTECH Southeast Asia are expected to come from all the principle markets for polyurethane products and systems including furniture, bedding & mattresses; footwear & clothing; building & construction; automotive & transportation; aerospace; paints, coatings and adhesives; electronics; household goods and marine & offshore.
The event’s three-day conference running adjacent to the exhibition will cover the latest research, developments and challenges from leading polyurethane industry experts both globally and locally.
